It is important to note that SNAs are a shared resource between many children. The Department of Education no longer assigns one SNA to one child. It is also important to note that Irish primary schools do not decide on what the allocation of SNA support given to their school is. The National Council for Special Education does this. Irish primary schools can only work with what they are given and with how it is given.
